    The embedded player does not work, again.
    Let me guess what Fraser is pointing out: we do not need Mitterand-style Grands Projets that only serve a centralist outlook.

    We need a network of well connected infrastructure to connect the vast, empty and depopulated landscapes of Britain with that of the capital which is blown to bits by overcrowding, central planning, concentration of business, humongous house price rises, increasing threats to social conhesion.
    Am I right?

      The population of greater London is about 8 million.
      metropolitan Paris is about 12 million.
      London has always been a magnet since roman times. As Paris shows its not unusual.
      If you drive from Liverpool through Manchseter Bradford and Leeds you will see the rest of Britain is not depopulated.

        You don’t get it.
        Neither Leeds, Manchester nor Liverpool even have a subway. Not even a proper tram system, like Barcelona, Munich, Milan or Thessaloniki. Yet, we are the same size.
        The levels of underinvestment in the periphery are breathtaking.

    Competition between airports is fine, but where does the investment come from to build the capacity to compete with?
    And when a supplier is forced out of the market – what do we do with the extra empty runways?
